[Templates] Splash! image library: mangled gifs in 2.19

I've installed the Splash! library both from the cpan shell and from my
browser. Many of the gifs are mangled. eg the plus.gif, diamond.gif, box.gif,
in all colors, and even the tt2power.gif. Am I doing something wrong?

BTW, this is my first post to the list. I was inspired to learn perl mostly
due to the awesomeness of the Template Toolkit.
