To my way of thinking, the primary advantage of Perl 6 will be its mutability: you can create your own little dialect.
If the Parrot back-end allows you to convert your code to "real" Perl 6 (or some other language) so other people can
work on it too, that'll be a great feature. (And of course if not it'll just lead to language fragmentation.)
Some of the stuff in P6 will be awesome, I think. And some of it will be so byzantine (or baroque (or both)) as to make
the rest of it worthless, except for that ability to mutate the language to pick the best and leave the rest. Just my $.02.
